Twin Souls Twin Souls Saga Book 1 eBook DelSheree Gladden
Twin Souls is a young adult paranormal/Native American Legend story that may appeal to those who want a teen romance adventure book. That contains no sexual situations with the characters.Originally I was considering giving this book three stars because, it had some elements that kept me interested enough to finish the book despite some of its flaws.
When I reached the last chapter however, I discovered that the author uses one of my biggest pet peeves with authors. The author spoiled the whole reading experience to the point I felt I'd wasted my whole time reading this book.
The book opens with a prologue titled "The Beginning." Leading the reader to believe that this is is what happened before the story begins in earnest. When you read chapter one, you discover the author has chosen to go back on the timeline rather then forward from the prologue. When I reached the last chapter is when it was clear that author provided the spoiler to the book in the prologue and only adds a little more detail to the ending. For my prospective it drops the series from one I would take a chance on book #2, to a series I won't finish. As it looks like they start book 2 in the same manner from the sample.

Twin Souls Twin Souls Saga Book 1 eBook DelSheree Gladden Reviews
While this book is primarily a fantasy, Gladden draws on shamanic traditions including herbal medicine, Native American mythology, and animal guides to create a wonderful novel about love and mystical power. While the book initially seems to be just another teen romance, it eventually blossoms into a powerful story that sent me straight to purchase the next in the series.
This was a fantastic, well-written, YA book. I loved it! The character development was there with the two teen protagonists, the plot was great, with a slow building (believable) love story, and the writing was excellent. It did hit one of my major pet peeves when there is something that everyone knows but never tells someone, even when there is no reason to withhold the information. I find this type of thing more irritating than suspenseful- but, that one aspect aside, this is one of the better YA books I've read. A Great read!
Do you believe in myths? Most people don't. This book might make a believer out of you. Uriah certainly didn't. But then he didn't put much stock in his tribal beliefs. His life changes greatly when he has to face aspects of his tribal beliefs in order to save Claire risking the bond with her twin soul to do it. An entrancing novel tri h at drags you into the Tewa myths and Etna g l especially you in Uriah's struggle. A can't put it down story.
As interesting and different to anything I have read before as this storyline was, I felt this book was a little on the long side and dragged on a little bit in places. I believe it could have easily been condensed down to a shorter novel and would have rated better for it from me
I also found it to be more suited to the teen/young adult market as I see similarities to The Twilight Saga in that it could easily be made into a movie for the younger generation to go a little crazy over
I have struggled to purchase the remaining two books as great as it was as a modern and diverse Native American series it really is suited for someone younger than myself. I would not think twice to recommend it to someone of the generation Y and younger and hope to find something similar for the generation X's like myself that adore Native American novels
All love stories consist of a great guy and a great girl with obstacles. In this one, Uriah and Clare seem destined for each other. The entire town is shocked when the shaman tells them they cannot marry because they are not Twin Souls and they are each destined to meet their Twin Souls. Uriah vows to find his own Twin Soul and show everyone he can withstand the bond and return to Clare. This is an excellent blend of modern love story and ancient legend. The characters of Clare and Uriah will make you weep with them. Make sure you have book two on hand when you finish this one!
Although I don’t get why this particular book is in a box set titled Gods and Mortals, there didn’t seem to be any kind of god in this story, I actually did like it just fine, it was just so long. It should have been shorter.
I also think that the chapters in Claire’s POV after she was rendered unconscious were completely unnecessary. I mean she’s unconscious, you could probably slip in a little dream sequence within the other chapters but, the readers certainly don’t need a whole chapter, let alone two, of what we were given.
It almost felt like the author was trying to reach word count for an essay or something, I got that same feeling that I get when I have to do that. It was rambling a bit.
I honestly thought that it would have more action but the action that was there was very short lived.
The beginning was good, it set a decent pace but then it would slow down, pick back up, then slow down. Kind of like when you’re on the freeway and you’re stuck behind someone who is going the speed limit at one point and then breaking the flow of traffic by slowing down again. I blame that on it being so long.
I have a lot of questions that weren’t answered and it seemed like they should have been answered because of the things mentioned at the beginning of the book. Because of that, I couldn’t really focus on the connection, although come to think of it, I don’t know if there really was a connection and I don’t know if that was the characters themselves or because of the writing being just so-so?
It took me a couple of days to finish and not just because I had classes, those slow parts would just kind of bore me so I would put it down. Then I would get curious and pick it back up.
If you want a long book to read, for fun or on a trip, then go ahead and pick this one up, just be warned that it really isn’t that impressive.
